We recently received news of the death of our highly regarded supporter Jaya Graves – who lived in Whalley Range in the Manchester area. Friends at Jaya’s parish church organised a very special memorial service at St Margaret’s Church, Whalley Range on her birthday which fell on September 25th.
Psalms, hymns, readings, recollections and talks about the current situation in Bhopal featured and the congregation paused to remember Jaya before gathering for lunch together.
Here at the Bhopal Medical Appeal, we are extremely sad to lose Jaya. She was both a loyal supporter and good friend of the Bhopal Medical Appeal over the years and a truly remarkable and compassionate person. She held the people of Bhopal, who had suffered in the disaster and who continue to suffer in its aftermath, very close to her heart. She will be greatly missed by us all and we will remember her fondly.
We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to members of the congregation at St Margaret’s Church, Whalley Range. Your gifts to the BMA will help tremendously with the funding of our work at Sambhavna Clinic and the Chingari Rehabilitation Centre in Bhopal.
