Inspired by a talk given by the BMA at his school’s assembly, the Young Mayor of Seahaven, Huey Cripps, organised the area’s first Pram Race. Funds raised from the event are for the benefit of Huey’s two chosen charities, one of which is the Bhopal Medical Appeal.
On Easter Monday the sun was shining for the race teams assembled at the West Quay, with competitors embracing the spirit of the occasion in fancy dress for the dash along the quay to Huggett’s Green. Prizes were given for fastest time, for the closest to a secret time and, of course, for the best dressed pram!
Newhaven’s Town Crier kicked off the race and the Nukehaven Ukulele Group and Earthquake Drummers provided the suitably uplifting soundtrack.
Our thanks go to Young Mayor Huey Cripps along with everybody else involved.
