‘CUBISM’, by Nigel Langford, an astonishing debut album of quietly considered electronic music, is available to download for the price of a donation to the Bhopal Medical Appeal. The album can be downloaded from Nigel’s JustGiving page here
We caught up with Nigel to find out what inspired him to create the album:
‘Why don’t you do it for the Bhopal Medical Appeal?’ said Mrs L. That was the trigger to turn a hobby project into something more worthwhile. So, from noodling about on the laptop to pass away the evenings I now had a reason to finish something properly and a very good cause to support. I started the project in April 2012 and I’m happy to say, and very relieved too, that I’m able to make it public as of July 2013.
Although I’ve been messing around with music since the 70s this is the first time I’ve produced so much music and all by myself; nowhere to hide on this one! It’s been hard work. A couple of years ago I did a 40K walk for the BMA and that was tough. It involved a lot of preparation and a very grueling day on the South Downs. Making ‘Cubism’ has been harder. So, in the spirit of sponsorship I’m asking people, friends and strangers alike, to recognise the effort and make a donation. If you like the music…even better!
Nigel has already raised over £800 of his original £500 target! ‘Cubism’ has become both a great fundraising effort and a brilliant album. Please visit Nigel’s page and have a listen to the album. If you like it then please just donate whatever you can afford.
