For the next 28 days the Bhopal Medical Appeal will be sharing with our supporters just a few of the reasons why it’s so important to continue to stand with the survivors of the 1984 Bhopal Gas Disaster and ongoing water contamination crisis. In the days leading up to the 28th anniversary of this tragedy, we ask you to share these posts with your friends, and encourage others to make a donation to the BMA.
Reason # 1
In the communities of Bhopal affected by the gas disaster, or by the ongoing chemical contamination of their drinking water, the rate of birth defects is estimated to be ten times higher than elsewhere in India. The Sambhavna Trust Clinic, and the Chingari Trust Rehabilitation Centre, are the only places that offer free medical care to all of these children.
