Today the total deaths from Covid-19 in Bhopal surpassed two hundred, with nearly two thousand more active cases. Many of those who have died were survivors of the 1984 industrial disaster, people who lived for decades in poverty, their lungs scarred by gas, only to finally succumb to this second invisible killer.
Last month, to help protect this vulnerable community, we launched Bhopal’s Community Shield, a campaign to support those working to safeguard Bhopalis living in gas-affected communities from Covid-19. Dozens of staff from our own Sambhavna and Chingari clinics, along with more than 150 volunteers from the community, are out every day providing information, giving tests, and referring those who test positive to hospitals for treatment. You can support this amazing community campaign by donating through our GoFundMe page:

Even if you are unable to donate please consider following and sharing the page online through social media – every share helps raise awareness and boost the campaign. An enormous thank you to all of you who have already given your support, it means the world to us and the people of Bhopal.
