Our fifth annual Music for Bhopal concert took place on Saturday 3rd December at St Michael & All Angels Church in Brighton. Thanks to all those who attended this event. It was a great opportunity for BMA staff to get together with local supporters.
To commence the evening’s entertainment, our young musicians from local school Dorothy Stringer; Ella Remende-Guyard (cello), Kate Granlund (Flute) and Freya Clarke (violin) performed Handel’s Flute Sonata in G major followed by the composer Jay Ungar’s haunting melody the Ashokan Farewell.
The Brunswick Duo; Nicole Le Clercq (flute) and Adam Le Clercq (piano) treated the audience to some lilting music by Fauré, Copland and Martinů. Adam Le Clercq then delighted the audience with a repertoire of songs for the countertenor voice, accompanied by Paul Moon’s mastery of the keyboard, on piano.
We ended the event with a warming glass of mulled wine in the church hall before venturing out into the cold night air. Sincere thanks to all our talented musicians for a wonderful evening’s entertainment.
