Sunny Brighton very much lived up to its reputation for the weekend of the 2017 Brighton Marathon, on Sunday 9th April, with glorious blue skies and blistering heat to welcome the runners. The fabulous weather also drew out huge crowds to cheer them all on.
Our two intrepid runners weren’t dismayed by the heat and powered through to complete the mammoth task. Mark Whyte managed a time of 4:43:24 and Karen O’Brien came in at 6:01:54 – two excellent times considering the sweltering heat! We would also like to say thanks to Jackie Rymell who kindly wore our vest and finished with an incredibly quick 3:50:02.
On Sunday 23rd, it’s the London Marathon and we have our first official entry with Jon Copestake running on our behalf. We wish Jon the very best of luck for the race and send our hope that he has better running conditions than our runners experienced in Brighton!
On Sunday 30th, it’s the Hackney Half Marathon and we’ve a small team entered there too. In fact, we have an extensive range of running events on our calendar so if you would like to get involved and participate in an event for us please get in touch at [email protected] or call into the office.
Places still available for the 2017 London 10K on Sunday 9th July.
