Bhopal Facing 30 is a stunning exhibition of photographs, by Francesca Moore, shot in two distinct stages and now being shown together for the first time at the Photofusion Gallery, in Brixton, London. There’s a launch party, on the 4th November, and then the exhibition remains on show, past the anniversary of the disaster, until the 5th December.
This exhibition features a full photographic panorama of the Union Carbide wall, built to contain the disaster site, shown here for the first time juxtaposed with the formal family portraits of the families who reside around it.
Francesca will also be taking part in a series of gallery and studio events to coincide with the exhibition. These include a studio portraiture masterclass focusing on the history, formalities and creativity of the group portrait, and a conversation with Martin Barnes, Senior Curator, Photographs, at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
