‘Candles in the Darkness: Bhopal at 40’ – Online Webinar – Wed 4th Dec

We invite you all to join us for a webinar to mark the 40th anniversary of the Bhopal gas disaster.

The webinar will be at 7pm on the evening of Wednesday, December 4th on Zoom and run for approximately 90 minutes.

Four decades after the disaster survivors and their families are still waiting for justice, adequate medical care, proper compensation, and environmental remediation.

The Bhopal Medical Appeal’s Executive Trustee, Tim Edwards, will speak on the 40-year struggle of survivors and the need for ongoing support. Award winning humanitarian leader, writer and photojournalist Savraj Kaur will speak about her new photobook '40 Children of Bhopal', which offers an intimate glimpse into the lives of 40 children at the Chingari Rehabilitation Centre. Bhopal gas survivor Tahira Sultan will speak on her own experiences and the demands of the survivor community on the 40th anniversary. The event will conclude with a question-and-answer session.

In preparation, you will need to have Zoom installed on your device and be logged into a Zoom account to access the webinar. The link will go live 30 minutes before the start of the event, and attendees will be put into a meeting room until the event start time, at which point you will be entered into the webinar.
