We would like to thank one of our most prolific fundraisers, Graham Cook, who ran a series of events in Chester during 2019 to raise money for the clinics in Bhopal. In total the five events he ran raised more than £1300 – an amazing achievement! Graham has very kindly provided us a quick breakdown of the events in his own words:
Summer Picnic and Rounders Match
We held a picnic and rounders match in a local park and finished the day enjoying a few rounds of giant Jenga, which those not playing rounders could take part in. Originally I had about 50 people signed up for the event, but had to reschedule due to the weather. Unfortunately I rescheduled to the Sunday of the British Grand Prix, Wimbledon tennis final and cricket World Cup final, so we ‘only’ got 24 attendees!
Walk Weekend
A friend and I organised three walks starting from Chester city centre, two on the Saturday and one on the Sunday. They were each about 6 miles in length and the 
one on Sunday ended at a pub for Sunday lunch. About 30 people took part in total.
Treasure Hunt
This was a walking Treasure Hunt around Chester city centre, starting and finishing at a pub! People had to solve clues and bring various fun items back. 24 people took part.
Yoga Event on Night of 2nd December
The leaders of my weekly Sports Yoga class agreed to donate all the proceeds of the session on the evening of 2nd December to the Bhopal Medical Appeal. With additional donations from the thirty or so attendees we raised £286 on the night.
1980’s Glow Party
A friend organised this 1980s party in the cellar of a bar in Chester. We had a DJ playing 80’s hits all night, balloons, banners and glow sticks. 56 people dressed up in 80’s gear and danced the night away.
A big thank you to Graham, his friends who helped organise the events, all those who attended, and the Yoga Centre in Chester for running a session for us. Without fundraisers like these we would not be able to continue with the amazing work taking place at the clinics in Bhopal.
