During five days of awards ceremonies at the Brighton Dome, between the 27th and the 31st of July, more than 5,300 students graduating from the University of Brighton are being awarded their degrees and, alongside them, a number of honorary doctorates are awarded. Amongst the recipients of this year’s honorary awards was authour and co-founder of the Bhopal Medical Appeal, Indra Sinha.
Honorary awards were also presented to author and illustrator, Emily Gravett; IBM Distinguished Engineer and Master Inventor and member of the IBM Academy of Technology, Mandy Chessell CBE; Chief Executive at Centre for Mental Health, Sean Duggan; expert in criminal law and the author of publications on human rights and criminal law, Françoise Tulkens; STOMP creators Luke Cresswell and Steve McNichols; and Kathryn Flett, best known as one of BBC2’s Grumpy Old Women, who will be awarded a Master of Letters for her major contribution to journalism and broadcasting, and her commitment to developing higher education in Hastings.
