Author Jackie McLean’s debut novel ‘Toxic’, published by ThunderPoint Publishing, will be available on the 24th of November.
The crime thriller, inspired by the Bhopal disaster, revolves around the investigation of criminal use of Methyl Isocyanate (MIC) a principle toxic substance that hundreds of thousand of people in Bhopal were exposed to on the night of the Union Carbide factory disaster in December 1984.
The novel has been described as an authentic and tense, fast paced crime thriller.
‘In the peaceful, rolling Tayside farmland a deadly store of MIC, the toxin that devastated Bhopal, is being illegally stored by a criminal gang smuggling the valuable substance necessary for making cheap pesticides.’
Jackie, who is based in Glasgow, will be donating a share of the proceeds from her novel to the Bhopal Medical Appeal.
