During September, and coinciding with the Paralympics taking place in London, two of the prominent individuals of the Bhopal Survivors movement will be touring Britain and Ireland.
There will be various engagements in different parts of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and many of these will be open to the public. For those who are interested in hearing the Survivors speak or have anything to input to the tour then please contact us at [email protected]. Some of the exact details are still to be confirmed but the tour will run as follows:
31st Aug- 2nd September, National Hazards Conference Keele. Bhopalis as keynote speakers plus workshop.
3rd September, Corby. Visit the former Corby Steelworks.
4th- 8th September, London. Including:
4th (afternoon), UNISON, Public Meeting, Walthamstow.
4th (evening), Bhopal Survivor’s Meeting with the ‘Justice fro Bhopal Survivors’ community group, Park Royal.
5th-7th, various meetings with politicians in Parliament and in the London Assembly.
6th, radio interview with NuSound Radio in Newham (Olympic borough with high Asian/ Indian population).
7th- 9th September, Bristol. Green Party of England and Wales Conference.
10th- 13th September, Bradford/ Yorkshire. Including:

ABOUT THE SURVIVORS
Safreen Khan.
Safreen is the nineteen year old daughter of gas exposed parents, who has grown up in a community close to the Union Carbide factory and exposed to the water contaminated with chemicals left abandoned there. She is a founder member of Children Against Dow-Carbide, which was formed in 2008 by young generation survivors to sustain the campaign against Dow and the ongoing disaster.
Balkrishna Namdev
Balkrishna Namdev organised street traders and pensioners before the gas disaster and after exposure to the gas he became leader of the Gas Affected Destitute Pensioners’ Front which campaigns on behalf of the most vulnerable of gas affected Bhopalis. He is a member of the International Campaign for Justice in Bhopal.
