A half marathon is a run of 21.0975 km/ 13 miles 192½ yards, i.e. half the distance of a marathon. It’s a a challenging enough distance but, for most people, won’t require anywhere near the same level of training as the full marathon.
Participation in half marathons has grown steadily since the early 2000’s, and in 2008, Running USA reported the half marathon to be the fastest growing type of race. In 2017 Harriette Thompson, age 94, became the oldest woman ever to finish a half-marathon at the Rock ‘n’ Roll San Diego Marathon!
We can now offer places in half marathons, around the country and in Europe. See below for details and please contact Matt at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
For most half marathons, we pay for your place, give you a nice red running vest or T-shirt and give you as much online support and fundraising advice as possible. All we ask is that you set a target to raise a minimum of £250 in sponsorship.
For larger teams we are happy to consider a deal on sponsorship targets; we can offer support on the day and even post-event picnics!
